Map of electricity exchanges between ECOWAS Member States in 2019

The commitment of ECOWAS Member States to achieve electricity interconnections for the pooling and optimal sharing of the region’s energy resources is increasingly materialized with the construction of the Information and Coordination Centre (CIC) from WAPP to Abomey Calavi in Benin. This centre will serve as an operator for sales and purchases of electrical energy as part of the operationalization of the regional electricity market.
